vice president-video, registered representative, works with investment advisor Marc Amateis as well as associate Kendall Bauer
Peter May is an author, director, graphic artist, designer, speechwriter, photographer, editor and former business owner who has found a home at Landaas & Company.
Peter’s name is on half a dozen patents from his work in engineering design. One of his documentaries is in the permanent collection of the Museum of Broadcast Communications, in Chicago. His book, “The Essential Digital Video Handbook,” has been used to teach university-level courses in video production.
In 1986, Peter met Bob Landaas, who had formed a limited partnership to create media projects. Their association led to a dozen award-winning international travel videos and ultimately to a weekly investment show on public television – hosted by Bob and produced by Peter and his wife, Ruth.
“At our peak,” Peter says, “the show, ‘Dollar Signs: Insights for the Intelligent Investor,’ aired in ninety-nine markets around the country.”
As producer, Peter met many of the most respected economists and fund managers in the country.
Peter is serving a second consecutive term as president of the Rotary Club of Mitchell Field, where he practices Rotary’s Four-Way Test:
- Is it the truth?
- Is it fair to all concerned?
- Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
- Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
“That’s the way I want to do business,” Peter said, “and I found that same ethical spirit here at Landaas & Company.”
Peter has been married to his wife and business partner, Ruth, since 1981. His hobbies include sailing, producing documentaries, collecting pre-Columbian artifacts and studying the history of the America’s Cup.
