Well Received
No surprise to anyone who has called or stopped in at Landaas & Company, but the 411 East Wisconsin Center management has honored receptionist Lisa Edgar as the building’s “hardest-working support staff person.”
Management presented the first-ever award in recognition of Administrative Professionals Day after inviting the building’s 1,200 employees to nominate an “outstanding” office colleague who “goes above and beyond the call of duty.”
“Everyone loves Lisa (including our clients),” Joy Schultz, controller at Landaas & Company, wrote in her nomination, “and we all agree she is the best receptionist any company could ever have.”
Joy detailed what a dynamo Lisa is: Answering the phone all day, sometimes juggling more than five calls at once while she’s greeting clients in person, hanging their coats, getting them coffee, keeping supplies stocked, assisting associates, coordinating office birthday celebrations, even hosting information videos on new technologies for clients.
Maritza Zuege, tenant services coordinator for the 411 Building, supported Lisa’s honor.
“Working in property management and dealing with many people, Lisa is one of the politest contacts we have in the building,” Maritza said. “Even though I can’t see her, when she calls I know she is smiling no matter what the reason she is calling about (whether good or bad).”
Joy’s nomination helps explain Lisa’s omni-pleasant demeanor.
“She knows that first impressions count,” Joy wrote of Lisa, “whether it’s talking to you on the phone or greeting our clients when they come to see their broker.”
