Art education group tags Brian Kilb
The board of directors of RedLine Milwaukee has elected as its president Brian Kilb, executive vice president and chief operating officer at Landaas & Company.
RedLine Milwaukee is a nonprofit incubator for contemporary art and urban education. It combines a residency training program with outreach and community impact.
In a former commercial print shop downtown, RedLine Milwaukee houses emerging artists, mentors, teen residents and visiting artists and connects them to community organizations through workshops, classes and outreach.

Lori Bauman, RedLine co-founder, went to Brian through a friend’s recommendation to discuss personal finances. But she also got him interested in her vision for the organization.
“To better understand my dream, Brian joined the RedLine board in the spring of 2010, when we were just six months old,” Lori recounts. “Art was a foreign language to Brian. Finance and spreadsheets were a foreign language to me. As Brian began to bridge our two forms of communication, he caught RedLine fever. He began to take our mission to heart and believe in its value for the Milwaukee community. Brian was exactly what RedLine needed: Someone to lead a good idea into a place of financial stability and sustainability.”
The board – which includes educators, attorneys, bankers, artists and an engineer – elected Brian president in June.
“With Brian now steering the ship, RedLine is moving forward with solid financial and sustainability goals in place,” Lori says. “We are grateful and look forward to continued growth under his leadership.”
