Landaas & Company will be closed for business on Monday, Jan. 18, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

The financial markets also are closed on the federal holiday, which falls annually on the third Monday of January. The slain U.S. civil rights leader and winner of the Nobel Peace Prize was born on Jan. 15, 1929.

Since 1995, AmeriCorps, the federal agency that promotes community service and volunteerism, has used the holiday to encourage citizens to engage in local charitable work, calling it “a day on, not a day off.”

Until further notice, Landaas & Company offices are closed to the public, although as an essential business, it continues business operations. Offices have been closed to the public since March to respect the safety of clients and employees during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Landaas & Company does not take trade instructions via email. Clients wishing to make a trade or speak to their advisor or an associate should call during business hours at 414-223-1099 or 1-800-236-1096.

Except financial market holidays, business hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
