Federal Open Market Committee – Word Cloud
With the federal government shut down and most economic data collection on hold, reports from the Federal Reserve Board have loomed larger among analysts.
After its meetings Sept. 17 and 18, the Fed‘s policy-making Open Market Committee surprised many investors by announcing that it was delaying plans to wind down $85 billion monthly bond purchases aimed at stimulating economic activity.
Minutes from those meetings included 8,130 words, which have been put into the computer-generated word cloud above. Words show up more or less prominently, depending on how frequently they occur in the Fed’s minutes.
